Claim this gymJason Gonzalez Brazilian BJJ in Terre Haute is led by Professor Jason Gonzalez, who began his martial arts journey in boxing at age 11 before shifting to Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu in 2004. Jason earned his black belt under Master Carlos Machado, one of the most respected instructors in the Southwest. His academy started humbly in a garage and grew steadily, eventually finding a permanent home where students from all backgrounds could benefit from his hands-on teaching style. Classes at the academy reflect Jason’s depth of experience and commitment to practical skill development. The schedule includes both gi and no-gi Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu for adults, with sessions offered throughout the week to accommodate different routines. Kids’ programs start with Little Rhinos and progress into more advanced youth BJJ classes, focusing on discipline, confidence, and self-defense. There is also a dedicated competition class for adults aiming to test themselves on the mat, and a homeschool jiu-jitsu session that opens the doors to families with flexible schedules. Beyond BJJ, the academy offers boxing and cardio boxing, drawing on Jason’s own early training roots. Saturday open mats invite students to get extra rounds in, work on techniques, or simply connect with training partners. Jason Gonzalez Brazilian BJJ has become a fixture in the Wabash Valley, bringing together students of all ages and backgrounds to train hard and support each other’s growth on and off the mats.
