Inspirit Jiu Jitsu Academy sits on Manhattan Beach Boulevard in Redondo Beach, where head coach Rodrigo Freitas leads a full schedule of Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu training for all ages. Rodrigo brings years of experience to the mats and has shaped the academy into a place where both new students and seasoned grapplers can build their skills in a structured setting. The academy’s programs reflect a clear emphasis on gi-based Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, starting with fundamentals and progressing through intermediate and advanced gi classes for adults. There are dedicated sessions for sparring, specific training, and competition preparation, as well as an advanced no-gi option and mixed-format classes for those looking to expand their approach. Women’s BJJ fitness classes and striking are also available, broadening the academy’s training opportunities without losing sight of its gi roots. For younger students, Inspirit offers age-specific BJJ programs, including Tiny Black Belt for ages 3–4 and the Future Black Belts tracks for kids up to 14. Youth classes cover both gi and no-gi, with additional judo and wrestling elements for kids interested in competition. Open mat times are available for adults and children, and drop-ins are welcome. The facility is wheelchair accessible, making it possible for more people in the Redondo Beach area to join in.
