Inferno Martial Arts in Bentonville grew out of Coach Plank’s years of cross-training with veterans of UFC, Pride and Strikeforce before he returned home and opened Inferno MMA with close friends. Plank is a third-degree Brazilian Jiu Jitsu black belt and also holds black belts across several other martial arts, giving the academy an unusually broad technical foundation. That background matches the program: gi and no-gi jiu jitsu, fundamentals, kids classes, judo, MMA, Muay Thai and boxing are all represented. Rather than adding striking as a fitness class beside BJJ, Inferno is built around a coach whose own training history spans grappling, kickboxing and traditional martial arts. For martial artists around Bentonville and Rogers, the strongest reason to compare Inferno is that cross-training is part of the founder’s actual background. Students who want BJJ connected to MMA, striking and other martial arts have a more coherent coaching story here than at a gym where those programs developed independently.
