Indianapolis Jiu Jitsu Coach - BJJ Academy is led by Marcello C. Monteiro, a 5th degree black belt from Brazil with over 31 years of experience on the mats. He is the only Brazilian black belt based in Indianapolis and has trained UFC fighters and legends throughout his career. Alongside him, Coach Jonathan D. Correa, a 2nd degree black belt with multiple IBJJF gold medals and more than a decade of teaching experience, helps guide students through their BJJ journey. Students at this academy train across men’s, women’s, and kids’ classes that emphasize practical self-defense, fitness, and confidence building. The kids’ program serves ages 3 to 15 and focuses on discipline and fun while developing grappling skills. Adult classes accommodate all fitness levels and include options to train gi and no-gi, with additional private lessons and an online academy offering a step-by-step curriculum available 24/7. The academy operates from a clean, wheelchair-accessible facility with nearly 1,000 square feet of mat space and private changing rooms. The schedule includes morning and evening classes to fit various lifestyles.
