A Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu black belt and MIT-trained physical chemist, Dr. Jensen is known for breaking down techniques by explaining the physics and anatomy behind each move. His coaching philosophy goes beyond memorizing steps—students learn how leverage, balance, and momentum create effective grappling, making complex concepts accessible to all ages and backgrounds. Classes at Ground Rules are designed with clear progression in mind. Adult students can start with fundamentals, move through advanced and competition-focused training, and explore both gi and no-gi formats. There’s a dedicated women-only fundamentals class, and open mats are available for extra practice and experimentation. For younger students, the BJJ Sprouts program introduces ages 6–7 to the basics through playful, skill-building games that emphasize coordination and safe contact. Ground Rules Academy welcomes students from age five upward and encourages drop-ins for most sessions. The academy is wheelchair accessible and aims to make Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu approachable for families, beginners, and experienced grapplers alike.
