The academy’s focus is exclusively on grappling arts, with a clear split between Gi and No-Gi Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, complemented by wrestling classes. Keller’s competitive experience informs a modern and competitive approach, especially in No-Gi, while the Gi program is headed by Raphael Rodrigues, a black belt under Andre Galvao with a strong technical background developed across Brazil, Singapore, and the United States. The academy’s philosophy centres on providing a professional and safe environment for everyone from absolute beginners to seasoned competitors. Classes cater to men and women, with programs tailored for kids of all ages and adults at fundamental and advanced levels. Instruction emphasises technical development and practical application, with a particular focus on pairing students appropriately to facilitate learning and growth. The wrestling component, coached by Jakub Kacenak—former head coach of the Australian wrestling team at the Commonwealth Games—adds a solid foundation for grappling under various rule sets. Training at Grappling Education Taren Point includes fundamentals and advanced classes in both Gi and No-Gi, alongside dedicated wrestling sessions and open mat times for additional practice. The schedule supports a range of commitments with early morning to evening classes during weekdays and weekend sessions.
