Gracie Sports Brazilian Jiu Jitsu School in Fairfield is built on the legacy of Mestre Marcio Stambowsky, an 8th-degree red and black belt who dedicated his life to the art and to teaching with humility and generosity. Professor Deborah Gracie, herself a lifelong practitioner, leads the academy with a clear mission: to help students transform both on and off the mats. Her approach blends discipline and warmth, ensuring that every student—whether child, teen, or adult—finds challenge, respect, and real growth through Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu. Classes at Gracie Sports are structured by age and experience, with dedicated tracks for Little Champions (ages 3–6), Junior Warriors (ages 7–12), teens, and adults. The curriculum starts with fundamentals and controlled movement for the youngest students, progressing to real technique and self-defense awareness in the junior and teen programs. Adult classes cover everything from beginner basics to advanced training and competition preparation. The schedule offers morning, lunchtime, and evening slots, making it possible for families and working adults to train consistently. The Fairfield academy welcomes students from all backgrounds, with a practical focus on building confidence, discipline, and self-defense skills. Women’s self-defense classes and a competition team are part of the regular offerings, and family training is encouraged. The influence of Mestre Marcio’s and Professor Deborah’s teaching can be seen in every class, where authentic Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu is taught in a way that honors tradition while supporting each student’s personal journey.
