Gracie Jiu-Jitsu Toukley

Gracie Jiu-Jitsu Toukley is a Certified Gracie Jiu-Jitsu Training Center, dedicated to carrying on the self-defence legacy of Grandmaster Hélio Gracie in the heart of Toukley, NSW. The academy is independently owned and operates under the official Gracie University curriculum, offering structured Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu programs for all ages and backgrounds. The team’s philosophy is simple: jiu-jitsu should be accessible to everyone, regardless of athleticism, age or experience, with a strong focus on building confidence and practical self-defence skills. The class structure reflects this commitment to progression and inclusivity. Adults start with Gracie Combatives, a beginner program covering the 36 core techniques of BJJ in a safe, cooperative environment. More advanced students move into the Master Cycle, which organises hundreds of techniques into clear, systematic chapters—such as Mount Controls and Back Submissions—for blue belt level and beyond. Women Empowered classes address real-life self-defence for women, taught by women, with an emphasis on practical application and empowerment. There are also boxing skills sessions and Filipino Kali/Arnis/Eskrima offered to members, rounding out the self-defence focus. Children’s development is a cornerstone, delivered through the Gracie Bullyproof system. The youngest, aged 3–5, join Mat Munchkins, where confidence and coordination are built through games and simple techniques. Little Champs (5–7) and Jr. Grapplers (7–12) programs teach anti-bullying strategies, verbal self-defence, and the fundamentals of Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, always prioritising safety and character development. Parents are encouraged to watch or even join adult classes, supporting the academy’s belief in family training and shared growth. Drop-ins are welcome across most classes, and uniforms are provided for newcomers.
