Gracie Barra Yuba City Brazilian Jiu Jitsu & Self Defense is part of the global Gracie Barra network, bringing structured Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu to Yuba City, California. The academy follows the Gracie Barra tradition of certified instruction, with coaches who have completed the organization’s formal training and continually refine their teaching skills. The focus is on delivering effective, safe, and systematized training for students at every stage, reflecting the broader philosophy and lineage of Gracie Barra’s founders. The academy’s class structure is built on the established Gracie Barra progression. Beginners start in the GB1 Fundamentals program, which covers core techniques, self-defense, and the foundational ideas of Jiu-Jitsu. As students advance, they move into GB2 Advanced classes, which introduce more complex drills, no-gi sessions, and live training, with eligibility typically after several months of consistent training and earning three stripes on a white belt. The GB3 Expert program is reserved for blue belts and higher, offering challenging sessions with increased technical depth and intensity.
