Gracie Barra Wetherill Park Brazilian JiuJitsu carries forward the global Gracie Barra tradition in the heart of Wetherill Park, NSW. The school is led by 2nd degree black belt Jeremy Mateo, whose approach is steeped in the values of brotherhood, integrity and personal development. The structured curriculum here is grounded in the classic Gracie Barra methodology, aiming to build both strong martial artists and well-rounded individuals, with a commitment to safety, technical excellence, and a supportive environment for all ages. The program covers a full spectrum of Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu. Adults follow a clear path from fundamentals (GB1) through advanced (GB2) and expert (GB3) classes, with opportunities for both gi and no-gi training, including dedicated no-gi sparring sessions. Kids are introduced to BJJ through age-appropriate classes such as Pee Wee 1 Gi, Pee Wee 2 NoGi, and broader kids’ gi and no-gi sessions, focusing on self-defence, takedowns, and discipline. Teens have their own gi classes, and there is a women’s self-defence program designed to build confidence and practical skill. Family classes in the gi are also offered, encouraging parents and children to train together. Sessions run Monday to Friday, with a mix of late morning and evening slots to accommodate different schedules. Open mat is available for extra practice and sparring. The facility includes multiple mats, changing rooms, showers, and a waiting area for visitors.
