Together, they bring decades of combined training and teaching experience to the mats, emphasizing a structured and safe approach to learning Jiu-Jitsu. The academy follows the Gracie Barra curriculum, offering a clear progression from fundamentals to advanced techniques in both gi and no-gi formats. Adult students can join fundamentals, advanced, and all-levels classes throughout the week, with options to train in either the traditional gi or no-gi. Open mat sessions are available for those looking to roll outside of formal class times. For younger students, the school runs dedicated kids’ classes in both gi and no-gi, led by certified instructors who specialize in working with children and helping them build confidence and discipline. Located on Wabash Avenue in Springfield, the facility is designed for accessibility and convenience, with a single large mat, changing rooms, and a waiting area for parents. Drop-in visitors are welcome, and the team takes pride in maintaining a safe, well-organized school that reflects the values of the wider Gracie Barra network. The instructors’ collective experience and dedication to ongoing certification ensure that every class—whether for adults or kids—follows best practices in both teaching and safety.
