Gracie Barra Homestead Brazilian Jiu Jitsu & Self Defense brings the heritage of Master Carlos Gracie Jr. and the worldwide Gracie Barra organization to Homestead, Florida. As part of a network founded in 1986, the academy follows a structured curriculum rooted in the values and technical traditions passed down from Mitsuyo Maeda to Carlos Gracie Sr., Helio Gracie, and ultimately to Carlos Gracie Jr. This lineage shapes the school’s approach to teaching, with an emphasis on discipline, integrity, and personal development. The academy offers Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu classes built around Gracie Barra’s global curriculum, which is designed to provide safe, progressive training for both new and experienced students. Programs typically include GB1 Fundamentals for beginners, GB2 Advanced for practitioners looking to deepen their skills, and classes for children through the GBK program. While the focus remains on traditional gi training, students can also find opportunities for women’s classes and private instruction, consistent with Gracie Barra’s mission to make Jiu-Jitsu accessible for all ages and backgrounds. Located on SW 288th Street, the facility is wheelchair accessible and welcomes students from across the Homestead area. The academy maintains the structured class progression, leadership development, and sense of belonging that are hallmarks of the Gracie Barra system. Whether pursuing self-defense, fitness, or competition, students at this school are connected to a global family united by a shared vision for Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu.
