3 Quest DR STE 201A, Bloomington, IL
Gracie Barra Brazilian BJJ - Twin Cities, IL brings the structured tradition of Gracie Barra’s Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu to Bloomington. The academy is part of the worldwide Gracie Barra network, following the teaching philosophy and curriculum established by Master Carlos Gracie Jr. All instructors are Gracie Barra certified and maintain their skills through ongoing training, ensuring that students learn in a safe, consistent, and effective environment. Instruction starts with the GB1 Fundamentals Program, which introduces new students to self-defense, core techniques, and the foundational principles of Jiu-Jitsu. As students progress, the GB2 Advanced Program adds more complex techniques, live training, and no-gi sessions for those with at least three stripes on their white belt. Higher belts can challenge themselves in the GB3 Expert Program, where training intensity and technical detail increase. The academy also runs the GBK Kids Program, focusing on confidence, discipline, and age-appropriate skills, as well as the GBF Women’s Program, which offers a focused introduction for women looking to build a strong foundation before moving into mixed classes. In addition to structured classes, Gracie Barra Twin Cities holds open mat sessions for adults, where members can practice techniques in a less formal setting and train with teammates from different backgrounds and experience levels. The school welcomes visitors and drop-ins, and private lessons are available for students seeking more personalized instruction.
