Forrer Martial Arts Academy, based in Lewisham, London, has established itself since 2017 as a centre for serious martial arts training with a clear, structured approach. The academy’s curriculum is built around Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu (BJJ), no-gi submission grappling, wrestling, Muay Thai, and MMA. Sessions are deliberately designed to balance technical progression and practical application, with a strong focus on fundamentals for newer students and advanced classes for those seeking to refine their skills or compete. The timetable is robust, offering lunchtime and evening classes from Monday to Saturday, with separate sessions for fundamentals, all levels, and blue belt and above in both BJJ and no-gi. Training at the academy covers the full spectrum of grappling and striking arts. BJJ classes follow a format of warm-up, technique drilling, and live sparring, while no-gi and wrestling sessions provide dynamic drills and positional work. Muay Thai is taught through a combination of padwork, bag drills, technical instruction, and, for advanced students, clinch and sparring sessions. MMA classes integrate striking and grappling elements for a comprehensive approach. The coaching team includes instructors and competitors with experience at national and international level, and members regularly take part in competitions and interclub events. The academy is located within the NRG Gym on Lewisham High Street, a short walk from Lewisham Overground and DLR stations. Members benefit from 24/7 access to the gym’s full facilities, including showers, sauna, and on-site parking. Drop-ins are welcome, and private sessions can be arranged. Forrer Martial Arts Academy has developed a reputation for technical teaching and a lively, supportive training atmosphere, drawing practitioners from across London who are looking to develop their skills in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu and other combat sports.
