62 New Kent Rd, London, Greater London
Fight City Gym - Elephant Park opened its doors in February 2022, aiming to offer Londoners a comprehensive approach to combat sports, including Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, boxing, Muay Thai, and MMA. The gym quickly became a hub for those looking to train seriously, whether starting out or pushing towards competition, and placed a strong emphasis on making high-level coaching accessible to everyone. Unfortunately, after more than four years of operation, the Elephant Park location closed permanently in July 2026 due to rising costs and loss of premises, but its impact on the local martial arts scene remains significant. The coaching team at Elephant Park was a standout feature, blending competition experience with a genuine passion for instruction. Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu classes were led by black belts such as Tommy Yip, who earned his rank under Alain Pozo—a respected instructor with direct lineage to Wilson Junior and the Carlson Gracie team. Sarah Merriner added further depth to the BJJ programme, bringing national championship experience from her background in Traditional Jujitsu. The curriculum covered the full spectrum, from fundamentals to advanced techniques, with classes structured to support steady progression for hobbyists and aspiring competitors alike. Alongside BJJ, the gym ran a range of programmes in boxing, Muay Thai, wrestling, and mixed martial arts, with elite coaches like double world boxing champion Hannah Rankin and Muay Thai head coach Leon Jason. Junior athletes and women had dedicated classes, and private training was readily available. Members valued the chance to cross-train in multiple disciplines under one roof, taking advantage of a schedule designed to accommodate both early morning and evening sessions. While the Elephant Park gym is now closed, its members are able to continue their training at the affiliated Fight City Gym locations in Moorgate and Balham.
