Empower Jiu Jitsu

Empower Jiu Jitsu is led by Jason Reno, a black belt under Carlos Archila of Lake County BJJ, who opened the academy in Saxonburg, Pennsylvania, after moving here in 2021. Jason’s background combines over 15 years of martial arts experience with nearly a decade as a strength and conditioning coach focused on rehabilitation and long-term health. His coaching philosophy centers on patience, problem-solving, and helping students train smart and safely, fostering growth at every pace. Empower Jiu Jitsu was founded as a place where everyday people and families can build confidence, resilience, and strength through Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu. Classes at Empower cover a full spectrum of training needs. Adults can progress through beginner to advanced gi classes, including a dedicated no-gi essentials pathway. The academy also offers regular open mat sessions for members to drill and spar freely. For younger students, the youth program serves kids ages 8 to 12 with foundational techniques designed to build character and focus in a supportive environment. Beyond BJJ, the schedule includes fitness kickboxing and specialized drills classes to develop specific skills and conditioning. The facility is wheelchair accessible and maintains flexible hours from early morning to evening on weekdays, plus Saturday mornings, accommodating busy schedules. Drop-in training is available, making it straightforward for visitors or newcomers to try classes without long-term commitments. Empower’s approach is grounded in creating a safe, steady environment where both children and adults can develop their abilities and find strength on and off the mats.
