6069 Park Dr, Wrightwood, CA
Eleven Elevation Jiu Jitsu Academy in Wrightwood, California, was founded in 2017 by Chad Keel, a black belt who trained under Paulo Guillobel, a six-degree black belt and multiple-time world champion. Chad’s experience includes years as an instructor at the renowned Guillobel Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu Academy in San Clemente before bringing his vision to the mountains of Southern California. The academy’s journey began in a modest space near the top of Park Drive and expanded through a series of moves, culminating in the 2021 renovation of the historic Myers Building, a 1924 structure transformed by volunteers into a functional and elegant training facility. The school’s philosophy centers on more than just self-defense or sport—it emphasizes personal growth, character development, confidence, and discipline through Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu. Chad and his instructors guide students individually while maintaining group pace, encouraging each person to reach their best version on and off the mats. Eleven Elevation offers classes for all ages and skill levels, including specialized programs for students with disabilities, reflecting its commitment to accessibility and inclusivity. Training at Eleven Elevation includes traditional gi Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu classes for adults, open mat sessions, and strength and conditioning programs. The academy also supports Wrightwood Wrestling, a nonprofit initiative that adds a wrestling component to the curriculum. The facility is wheelchair accessible, and membership is handled through a flexible subscription model without long-term contracts, allowing students to manage their participation on their own terms.
