Claim this gymElevate Martial Arts in Richmond has been built from the ground up as a place for genuine transformation through martial arts and strength training. Founded in 2015 by Jack, a former professional MMA fighter and current powerlifting champion, alongside Tommy, a Roger Gracie black belt, and Trent, a dedicated martial artist and entrepreneur, Elevate set out to provide more than just a training space. The team’s mission is to help people from all backgrounds grow in confidence, discipline, and resilience, using martial arts as the vehicle for personal development. Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu is a core focus at Elevate, with structured programmes in both gi and no-gi. Fundamentals classes are designed to give newcomers and those refining their basics a solid technical foundation, with an emphasis on practical skills and positional understanding. Advanced sessions cater to blue belts and above, incorporating high-paced drilling, detailed technique work, and focused sparring for those seeking to sharpen their game or prepare for competition. Both gi and no-gi classes are led by experienced coaches, and the academy’s approach ensures progression for every level. The academy’s timetable extends well beyond BJJ. Members can also train in wrestling, MMA, kickboxing, boxing, and strength and conditioning, all under the guidance of coaches with real competitive backgrounds. There are specific classes for children and teens, with a regular grading system to provide structure and motivation. The ethos at Elevate is rooted in humility and consistency—values reflected in everything from the team’s attention to detail to the sense of community on the mats. Regular events, seminars, and a supportive reception team further foster a culture where everyone is encouraged to show up, train hard, and keep growing.
