Elemental Jiu Jitsu and Fitness

Elemental Jiu Jitsu and Fitness serves Palmetto Bay with a full slate of Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu programs for children and adults, led by Professor Ernesto Frye. Born in Brazil and fluent in English, Spanish, and Portuguese, Professor Frye brings a broad martial arts background—including wrestling, boxing, and kickboxing—to his teaching. He earned his black belt under Lazaro Amaro and Michel “Buiu” Porfirio, and carries that lineage into his classes. As a coach, Frye is known for his practical, real-world approach to self-defense and his dedication to helping students grow both on and off the mats. The academy’s structure is built around age-specific Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu groups, starting with preschoolers and progressing through kids (ages 4–6 and 7–9), juniors (10–15), and adults. Alongside traditional gi instruction, Elemental offers submission grappling in both gi and no-gi formats, women’s self-defense classes, and fitness-focused jiu-jitsu workouts aimed at improving conditioning and practical skills. The schedule also includes birthday parties and a summer camp, making it a year-round resource for local families. Elemental Jiu Jitsu and Fitness is wheelchair accessible and provides on-site parking, making it convenient for students and families. The academy emphasizes a safe and motivating environment where students of all backgrounds can develop confidence and skills at every stage. Professor Frye’s commitment to teaching extends to his own family, and his hands-on approach is evident in every program offered at the school.
