ED RAMOS Brazilian Jiu Jitsu

Every student at ED RAMOS Brazilian Jiu Jitsu in Houston will find themselves learning directly under Professor Eduardo Ramos da Silva, a 4th degree black belt and IBJJF-certified instructor with a decorated competition history. Professor Ed Ramos, promoted to black belt by Ramon Lemos of Atos Jiu-Jitsu, brings decades of experience as a 3x world champion and champion at the Pan American, European, and Brazilian National levels. Since opening in 2000, the academy has emphasized loyalty, respect, and a team atmosphere, with a focus on pushing students to their personal best—whether they are new to martial arts or preparing for high-level competition. Classes at the academy run throughout the week, with over 23 sessions including all-levels gi BJJ, dedicated sparring sessions, and open mats for adults. Kids’ programs are split by age and experience, with “Little Champions” and “Junior Champions” gi classes, as well as an all-levels no-gi class for younger athletes. The academy also offers a Cardio Kickboxing class as part of its fitness approach, and open mats for both adults and kids. Drop-ins are welcome, and the facility is wheelchair accessible. Instruction follows the Atos lineage and is rooted in both the technical and character-building aspects of Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu. Students are taught not just competition techniques, but also lessons in courtesy and respect, consistent with the school’s long-standing philosophy. The clean, modern space at 10921 East Fwy is set up to serve everyone from first-timers to experienced grapplers, providing structured training and a supportive environment shaped by Professor Ramos’s leadership and international pedigree.
