Eastside Jiu-Jitsu Club

In Orléans, Eastside Jiu-Jitsu Club presents itself as a neighbourhood BJJ academy rooted in East Ottawa. Co-founded by Matthew McKay and Jayson Brown, the club centres on Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu rather than a multi-discipline MMA model, and its programming is organised around age-specific and skill-specific tracks rather than a catch‑all curriculum. The coaching core listed by the club includes Matthew McKay (black belt), who trained from 2011, coached at New Era Combat Sports’ Orleans location and holds NASM personal training credentials; Jayson Brown (purple), who began BJJ in 2018 and progressed through blue to purple under Professors Guilherme Reis Pereira, Peter Fazekas and Matt McKay; and Rachael Daniels (purple), active in the women’s classes with competitive experience at provincial and Ontario Open events. Those instructor bios are used to staff kids classes, fundamentals, Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu (Gi), No-Gi Jiu-Jitsu, women’s-only sessions and competition training according to the club’s program listings. The club’s materials note local roots and coaching experience in Orléans and East Ottawa, and they state explicitly that Muay Thai and kickboxing are not part of the offerings. Practical details such as class schedules, a training calendar and a trial option are provided through the club’s website at https://www.martialartsorleans.com/ for anyone checking specific times and program levels.
