817 Arnold Dr, Ste 6, Martinez, CA
East Bay Academy Jiu Jitsu serves the Martinez area as the only dedicated Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu academy in town, located on Arnold Drive. Founded on the idea of bringing high-level, accessible Jiu-Jitsu to the greater East Bay, the academy is led by owner and 3rd degree black belt Daryl “Rocky” Fort, supported by a deep roster of black belt instructors including Mark Smith, Ernad Rosic, Jordan Landry, Drea Santos, and several others. Students benefit from a hands-on, detail-oriented teaching style that reflects the experience and technical depth of the coaching staff. The class schedule is built to support both new and experienced grapplers. Beginners start with the Basics Jiu Jitsu classes, where fundamentals are emphasized and more advanced students can sharpen their technique. For those ready to push further, Advanced Jiu Jitsu classes offer a place to build on core skills and explore higher-level concepts. No-Gi Jiu-Jitsu is a regular part of the weekly schedule, with sessions focusing on takedowns, positional control, and submission grappling. Open mat times are available for students looking to roll with partners or drill at their own pace. EBA Jiu Jitsu places a strong emphasis on youth development, offering kids’ classes for ages 5 and up every weekday, including a dedicated Kids No-Gi session. The kids’ program is supported by experienced coaches such as Choi Galarza and Agustin Palacios, ensuring young students receive age-appropriate instruction and guidance. The facility is wheelchair accessible and offers ample parking, making it easy for families and visitors to participate. Drop-ins are welcome in regular classes and open mats.
