8068 Flannery Ct, Manassas, VA
Dominion BJJ in Manassas, VA, is led by head instructor Bill Nagle, a third degree black belt under Leo Dalla. Bill began his journey in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu in 2008 with Dave Trader, earning his early ranks there before continuing his training with Dalla after Dave’s passing. He’s known for his technical approach and the way he breaks down both the fundamentals and the latest competition techniques for his students. The academy’s teaching team also includes Michelle Welti, a highly decorated competitor and second degree black belt, and Josh Petty, who oversees the fundamentals program. The academy offers a full slate of Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu classes for both adults and kids, with structured programs divided by age for children (K–1st, 2nd–4th, and 5th–8th grades). Adult students can start with fundamentals and move into advanced classes and open mat sessions. Dominion BJJ keeps its instruction rooted in the gi, but also brings in aspects of competition training and modern grappling. The kids’ program is designed to build skill and confidence at every stage, and the fundamentals classes are aimed at making new students comfortable on the mat from day one. Beyond BJJ, Dominion also offers Judo and Muay Thai, with classes and open mats for both adults and kids. Muay Thai instruction is led by Jose Marquez, who brings years of striking and grappling experience. The facility is wheelchair accessible, and drop-ins are welcome for many classes and open mats. Dominion BJJ’s schedule is built to serve everyone from first-timers to seasoned competitors, with a focus on helping each student progress at their own pace.
