2114 Seabrook Cir, Seabrook, TX
Cross Collar Jiu Jitsu in Seabrook was founded by martial artists who wanted to bring their passion for Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu and combat sports to the Clear Lake area. The academy is led by Robert “The General” Lee and Professor Zack Hunter, both second-degree black belts with decades of experience in jiu-jitsu, MMA, and wrestling. Robert Lee, a retired Coast Guard veteran, has trained across the United States and Brazil, blending a wide range of techniques into his progressive approach. Zack Hunter opened his own gym in 2018 before joining Cross Collar in 2020, and has continued to compete at the IBJJF level, most recently taking gold at the Austin and Waco Opens. The coaching team also includes Trent Draper, a decorated competitor and instructor, Brandon Adamson, a black belt under Pat Miletich with two decades of MMA experience, and Casey Thom, a brown belt and former NCAA All-American coach. The heart of Cross Collar is its Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu program, which serves everyone from first-day beginners to seasoned competitors. Classes are structured to foster both technical growth and camaraderie, with an emphasis on purposeful training and respect for each athlete’s journey. The academy’s affiliation with the BJJ Revolution Team connects students to a broader network of learning opportunities. Cross Collar is also known for its family-oriented environment, where parents and children often train together and support each other on and off the mats. Beyond BJJ, the academy offers Vici Wrestling for kids, helping young athletes build athletic fundamentals and confidence, as well as an adult MMA program led by Brandon Adamson. Open mat sessions are available for adults and welcome drop-ins. The facility is wheelchair accessible and serves Seabrook, Clear Lake, League City, and surrounding communities, reflecting its founders’ commitment to making high-quality martial arts accessible to a wide range of students.
