Corsicana Jiu Jitsu

Corsicana Jiu Jitsu is led by Professor Isaiah Sanchez, who began training in Brazilian Jiu Jitsu in 2018 and earned his black belt under Professor Alex Martins in 2025. After coaching at Alex Martins Brazilian Jiu Jitsu and Highlight BJJ, Isaiah opened Corsicana Jiu Jitsu in 2023 to bring structured BJJ training to Navarro County. The academy follows the IBJJF belt system, promoting students twice yearly based on technical skill, application, and attendance. The school emphasizes self-defense, discipline, and teamwork as core values in its instruction. Students at Corsicana Jiu Jitsu train in both gi and no-gi formats across multiple age groups, starting as young as four years old. The curriculum includes Brazilian Jiu Jitsu fundamentals, judo, and striking, with dedicated programs for kids, adults, and women. Classes run Monday through Friday with additional striking sessions on Saturdays. The academy also offers private lessons with Professor Sanchez and hosts belt promotion ceremonies each spring and fall to mark student progress. The gym maintains a clean and safe training environment with rules such as no shoes on the mats and hygiene standards for uniforms and nails. Corsicana Jiu Jitsu welcomes drop-in visitors and provides wheelchair-accessible facilities. Competition is encouraged for those interested, allowing students to test their skills and build confidence in tournament settings. The academy aims to foster a team-oriented atmosphere where individuals can develop at their own pace.
