Cornerstone Jiu Jitsu, Silverdale was founded with a clear vision: to use Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu as a path for building character, confidence, and lasting relationships. Head Professor Alvin, known to students as “Pwofessor Owl,” leads a team that includes Coach Austin (brown belt), Coach Jaimee Littles (blue belt), Coach Lenny (purple belt), Coach Stephen (brown belt), and Coach Kassie (purple belt). Their collective focus is on personal growth, humility, and service—values that shape every aspect of the dojo’s culture. At Cornerstone, training is designed to go beyond the surface-level goals of sport or competition. The academy encourages students to challenge themselves physically, mentally, and even spiritually through regular Jiu-Jitsu practice. Instructors emphasize self-mastery and mutual respect, helping each person tap into the deeper lessons that come from grappling arts. The approach is not about defeating others, but about learning to flow with challenges and build resilience through trial and error. Classes at the Silverdale location are structured to welcome people from all backgrounds and skill levels, with an emphasis on knowing each student as an individual.
