Claim this gymBushi Ban Seymour operates under the guidance of Sensei Jarod Teixeira, a 3rd Degree Black Belt who leads the Seymour location’s Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu instruction. The school is part of the broader Bushi Ban Connecticut organization, directed by Master John Lombardo, a 5th Degree Black Belt with extensive martial arts experience. This lineage and leadership reflect a strong foundation in traditional gi-based training within a structured curriculum that emphasizes progressive skill development. Classes at Bushi Ban Seymour cover a full spectrum from beginner fundamentals to black belt level for adults, with dedicated teen programs as well. Students train primarily in gi, advancing through intermediate and advanced levels, with specific classes geared toward competition readiness and technical refinement. The academy also offers open mat sessions that accommodate all adult skill levels, providing additional time for drilling and sparring beyond regular classes. Beyond Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, the school’s programming integrates broader martial arts elements through its Dragon Warriors youth program and options like self-defense and power kickboxing, supporting fitness and confidence building. Private lessons are available for personalized instruction, and the school welcomes drop-in students, offering flexibility for visitors or those new to the area. Located on Klarides Village Drive, Bushi Ban Seymour serves as a local hub for disciplined martial arts training grounded in Bushi Ban’s established methodology.
