Claim this gymBraddah Jiu Jitsu Eastwood was established by Lucas Sachs and Martin Melecchi, two Brazilian black belts with over 30 years of combined experience in the art. Since opening in 2019, the academy has focused on building a space where respect and support come before ego, and structured learning is at the heart of every class. Lucas, a 5th degree black belt, brings a significant competition pedigree, with achievements at the Abu Dhabi World Pro and IBJJF events, and is known for his leadership both on and off the mats. Martin, a 1st degree black belt, complements this with a practical coaching style shaped by years of competition success across Australia. The teaching team at Eastwood includes black belts like Raphael Moraes, Domenico Novello, Brett Gibson, and Daniel Faria, each with their own strengths in both coaching and competition. Raphael, for example, trained under Master Sylvio Behring and has a strong background in both sport BJJ and self-defence, while Domenico is recognised for his patient approach and consistent competition results. The academy also offers instruction in Wing Chun, led by Leo Kwok, who brings decades of striking and self-defence experience alongside his Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu training. This combination gives students the opportunity to develop a well-rounded martial arts foundation. Braddah Jiu Jitsu Eastwood delivers a comprehensive program structure, starting with strong fundamentals and progressing through all levels. Classes include Foundations, All Levels, Intermediate/Advanced, as well as dedicated Kids and Kids No-Gi sessions. The curriculum is designed so that students develop confidence and technical skill in a supportive, disciplined setting, with instructors who see themselves as mentors as much as coaches. The Eastwood location serves a diverse local community, with a strong emphasis on consistency, real improvement, and the original essence of Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu.
