Bison MMA in Enfield was founded and is led by Elbiz Bison, a figure with over two decades of combat sports experience. Elbiz’s martial arts journey began at the age of six and has spanned wrestling, Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, kickboxing, boxing, and Wing Chun Kung Fu. He has earned gold in British Mongolian Wrestling, multiple medals in BJJ, and has competed for the Mongolian Wrestling Team in the UK. His background also includes a black belt in karate kickboxing, a black sash in Wing Chun, and time as a competitor for St Pancras Amateur Boxing Club. Elbiz’s coaching credentials include serving as an official British Wrestling Coach, and his approach blends the discipline of traditional martial arts with the technical demands of modern MMA. The training at Bison MMA reflects the founder’s varied background, with sessions in no-gi Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, wrestling, boxing, Muay Thai, kickboxing, and MMA. The gym offers a hybrid curriculum built on practical fighting skills and technical control, suitable for both those new to martial arts and experienced competitors. Classes are available for adults and children, and there are dedicated kids’ martial arts sessions, making Bison MMA accessible to families and younger athletes as well. The programme is designed to develop not only technical ability but also strength, discipline and the kind of resilience that comes from hard training. Bison MMA operates out of St Mary Magdalene Church on Windmill Hill, right in the heart of Enfield, Greater London. The facility is set up to accommodate a range of combat sports and fitness classes, including wrestling and grappling sessions. The academy maintains a strong local presence, with Elbiz Bison’s roots in North London shaping both the ethos and the community focus of the gym. The schedule includes a mix of group classes and opportunities for private training, all under the direct supervision of Coach Bison himself.
