Be Like Water BJJ | MMA is led by Michael Senich, whose 30 years in fitness and martial arts stem from a lifelong family tradition. Michael’s mother, a 2nd-degree black belt in Okinawan Shorin Ryu Karate, introduced him to martial arts as a child, instilling values of confidence, respect, and self-discipline that shaped his approach to training. Now based in Fulshear, Texas, Michael brings that same dedication to teaching families and individuals, aiming to pass on practical skills and personal growth through martial arts. The academy’s curriculum embraces a broad spectrum of disciplines, including Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, Muay Thai, boxing, kickboxing, wrestling, judo, and mixed martial arts. Its philosophy draws inspiration from Bruce Lee’s “Be Like Water” concept, emphasizing adaptability and fluidity—training students to transition smoothly between striking and grappling techniques. Classes accommodate a wide age range, from children as young as five to adults, allowing families to train side by side and develop together. Instruction focuses on real-world application and comprehensive skill development. Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu classes stress leverage and technique for control and submissions, while the striking arts cover punches, kicks, elbows, knees, and clinch work. Wrestling and judo complement ground strategies with takedowns and throws. The gym also offers high-intensity interval training and self-defense courses tailored to practical scenarios. The facility is wheelchair accessible, reflecting an inclusive approach to training.
