Balbino Jiu Jitsu in Niagara Falls is led by José Balbino, a black belt who began training in Brazil at a young age. Born in Ilhéus, Bahia, he started with judo before focusing on Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, earning his black belt in 2008. After moving to the U.S. in 2013, Balbino joined MMA Masters in Miami, competing professionally with a 5-1 record and notable knockouts. His coaching experience includes working with top fighters such as Amanda Nunes, who invited him to be a Jiu-Jitsu coach on The Ultimate Fighter season 30. The academy offers instruction in both Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu and mixed martial arts, providing private and group classes. Training sessions emphasize practical self-defense skills, combining technique with strategy and controlled movements. Students can expect to develop physical attributes like cardiovascular endurance, strength, and flexibility, alongside mental focus and problem-solving abilities. Balbino Jiu Jitsu also supports training in MMA and offers private lessons tailored to individual goals. Balbino Jiu Jitsu operates daily from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. at 4600 Witmer Industrial Estates.
