9050 Fairway Dr UNIT 115, Roseville, CA
Ares Brazilian Jiu Jitsu, Roseville opened its doors in 2015, founded by a group of dedicated practitioners who simply loved training and wanted to share that passion with others. Over the years, the school has grown from humble beginnings to a 1,700 square foot facility conveniently located off Galleria Boulevard. As part of the Ares BJJ Association, the academy benefits from connections to world-class black belts and frequent seminars, giving local students access to a much wider jiu-jitsu network. The heart of the academy is its approach to teaching proper technique in both gi and no-gi formats. Adult classes run throughout the day, with options as early as 6 a.m., lunchtime, and evenings to fit busy schedules. The coaching team includes black belts like James Labanoski, Kevin Bodle, Julio Veliz, and others, each bringing their own style and experience to the mat. Students can also work one-on-one with black belt instructors through private lessons, and open mat sessions are available for anyone looking to get extra rounds in. Ares BJJ Roseville has put special effort into building a strong kids’ program, offering daily classes with separate groups for different age ranges. Younger children start in Tiny Titans (ages 5–7), while older kids move into all-levels fundamentals. There’s even a dedicated program for homeschoolers. The women’s team trains multiple times each week, supporting each other in regular classes and during competition prep. The academy’s mission has always been to help people of all backgrounds find their own place in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, whether they’re looking for self-defense, sport, or lifelong fitness.
