1969 Peabody Rd # 1, Vacaville, CA
Apex Brazilian Jiu Jitsu Academy Vacaville was built from the ground up by Professor Cleidson Ramos, a second-degree black belt from São Paulo, Brazil. Professor Ramos started training at age 14, opened his first academy in Brazil in 2012, and earned his black belt in 2015 before moving to the U.S. After a stint teaching in Texas, he settled in California to open Apex, bringing his direct experience from Brazil to Vacaville instead of following a franchise model. At Apex, the backbone of the program is traditional gi Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, with classes for adults at all levels, a fundamentals course for beginners, and dedicated pro training in the gi. Professor Ramos leads the instruction himself, keeping the focus on technical development, safety, and steady progression. The schedule also makes room for open mat sessions, and visitors are welcome to drop in and train. Kids and teens have a strong presence at the academy, with separate classes for ages 3-5, 6-9, and 10-13, plus a homeschool program for children five and up. This structure gives younger students a chance to learn BJJ in age-appropriate groups, and the homeschool option adds flexibility for families. With Ramos’s background running academies in both Brazil and the U.S., Apex offers a blend of authentic lineage and local experience that shapes how students in Vacaville learn and train.
