AGUILERA JIU JITSU | BANG MUAY THAI KICKBOXING | PROSPER TX was founded in 2016 by Marco Aguilera, a Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu black belt originally from Chicago. After moving to Prosper in 2014, Marco set out to build a school that offered the same positive benefits and sense of belonging he experienced through years on the mats. The academy traces its lineage through Mitsuyo Maeda, Carlos and Helio Gracie, Rolls Gracie, Romero Cavalcanti, and Rodrigo Medeiros, grounding the instruction in classic Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu traditions. Marco remains an active competitor with a long list of IBJJF and regional podium finishes, bringing both technical depth and current experience to his students. Classes at Aguilera focus on strong fundamentals for kids, teens, and adults, with structured programs for ages 7 and up. The academy runs separate Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu classes for youth and adults, emphasizing practical self-defense, confidence, and disciplined training. In addition to gi-based BJJ, the school offers BANG Muay Thai Kickboxing for all ages, inspired by Bas Rutten’s Dutch striking system, as well as a weapons and self-defense class for those interested in a broader martial arts education. The schedule is designed to accommodate busy families, and it’s common to see parents and children training side by side. Aguilera Jiu Jitsu places a strong emphasis on personal growth, respect, and perseverance.
