Academy of Brazilian Jiu Jitsu

Academy of Brazilian Jiu Jitsu in Chatsworth has offered consistent instruction at the same location since 2008. Head instructor Todd Nathanson, a 6th degree black belt with over 30 years of experience, leads the school in the Fadda lineage. Alongside him are black belts Geoff (3rd degree) and Bob (1st degree), as well as advanced no-gi instructor Tyler and children’s coach Moses. The academy’s approach emphasizes developing a deep understanding of jiu-jitsu for every student, whether they’re training recreationally or preparing for competition. Classes are organized by age and gi preference, with options for kids, teens, and adults. The schedule includes gi and no-gi sessions throughout the week, including fundamentals classes geared toward adults new to no-gi. Kids have separate gi and no-gi classes, and teens follow a similar structure. Adults can train gi classes on Thursday and Friday evenings, with no-gi classes offered multiple nights and a Saturday morning session. Private lessons are available on Sundays. The academy maintains a clean facility with showers and mats sanitized after every class. Students at the academy experience a training environment focused on skill progression and safety. Instruction balances technical drilling with live rolling, providing the tools necessary to advance at any level. The school’s long-standing presence in Chatsworth and experienced coaching staff support both beginners and competitors aiming to improve their jiu-jitsu.
