A-Force Brazilian Jiu Jitsu Academy - Rockville Centre was founded by Andre “Tim” Monteiro, a 5th degree black belt from Rio de Janeiro who has dedicated his life to Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu both as a competitor and as a teacher. Professor Monteiro began his teaching career in Brazil and has since brought his experience to students across Europe and the United States, earning multiple IBJJF titles along the way, including World and European medals, a Nogi Pan Ams championship, and a Pan American bronze medal. Holding a degree in physical therapy and osteopathy, he brings a deep understanding of body mechanics and safe training methods to every class. At the Rockville Centre location, students can expect a structured approach to BJJ that emphasizes both Gracie Jiu-Jitsu self-defense principles and modern sport techniques. The academy runs programs for kids and adults, with classes specifically tailored for beginners as well as advanced practitioners. Young students build physical and social skills through age-appropriate instruction, while adults benefit from individualized coaching and a curriculum designed to help them progress at their own pace. A-Force also offers Muay Thai classes at select locations, though the Rockville Centre academy focuses primarily on Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu for all ages. The school is wheelchair accessible and welcomes students from throughout Nassau County and Queens, providing a space where families and individuals can train together and grow on and off the mats.
