A-Force Brazilian Jiu Jitsu Academy - Manhasset is led by Professor Andre “Tim” Monteiro, a 5th degree black belt from Rio de Janeiro with over 25 years of experience as a competitor, coach, and teacher. Professor Monteiro’s credentials include multiple IBJJF titles, World and European medals, and a background in physical therapy and osteopathy, which shapes his careful and effective teaching style. The academy’s foundation is rooted in Gracie Jiu Jitsu, blending self-defense, sport BJJ, and a focus on healthy living. At the Manhasset location, students of all ages and backgrounds can find classes tailored to their needs. The academy offers Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu for kids, teens, and adults, with instruction for complete beginners through to advanced practitioners. The kids’ program emphasizes both physical skill and character development, while adults benefit from a curriculum that balances fundamental technique with competition-tested strategies. Classes are structured to accommodate individual goals, whether students are looking to improve fitness, learn self-defense, or prepare for tournaments.
