10th Planet Jiu Jitsu Longmont was founded in 2024 by Conor Heun, a 3rd degree black belt under Eddie Bravo and retired professional MMA fighter. Conor’s journey began with wrestling as a child in Colorado, eventually earning state titles before competing at the collegiate level and fighting professionally in organizations like Strikeforce and Elite XC. After retiring from MMA, he dedicated himself to coaching, first opening 10th Planet Denver in 2018 and later bringing the 10th Planet no-gi system to Longmont with the goal of helping others find confidence and practical self-defense skills through grappling. The academy runs a 100% no-gi Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu program built around the 10th Planet system—leg locks, rubber guard, back control, and submission grappling designed for real-world effectiveness and MMA application. Classes cover all levels, starting with Jiu-Jitsu Fundamentals for newcomers and progressing to advanced techniques. The coaching team includes experienced brown and purple belts such as Adam Davila, Del Jolly, Ben Swan, Nehemiah Michalenko, Sebastian Zydek, and Sheila Davila, each bringing their own competitive backgrounds and teaching approaches to the mat. Kids’ martial arts, women’s-only classes, wrestling instruction, and open mat sessions are all part of the weekly schedule, offering practical training opportunities for a wide range of students. At 10th Planet Longmont, instruction emphasizes patience, feedback, and the development of a style that fits each student’s body and goals. Coaches actively compete and continue their own training, ensuring that classes stay current and grounded in real experience. The facility is wheelchair accessible, and visitors are welcome to drop in for classes or open mat. The academy’s mission is to make effective, no-gi jiu-jitsu accessible in Longmont, helping students gain strength, confidence, and practical skills that carry over beyond the mats.
