10th Planet Jiu Jitsu Denver

10th Planet Jiu Jitsu Denver was opened in 2018 by Conor Heun, a third-degree black belt under Eddie Bravo and a retired professional MMA fighter. After a lifetime on the mats that began with wrestling at age five and included state titles in Colorado and a seven-year pro MMA career, Heun built the Wheat Ridge academy for people who wanted to learn no-gi jiu-jitsu without the barriers that keep most beginners out. His own journey—from being bullied as a kid to competing at the highest levels—shapes the way the school brings in new students, focusing on practical skill and the confidence to move through the world unafraid. The coaching staff reflects the depth of the 10th Planet Denver mat. Black belts like Zane Stone, Brian Lipset, and Mars Brassell all earned their ranks inside the system, bringing experience from years spent with respected instructors including Denny Prokopos and Brad Gumm. The team also includes coaches with strong wrestling backgrounds, competitive MMA records, and long-term commitment to no-gi grappling. This local lineage means students aren’t just learning the 10th Planet curriculum—they’re taught by coaches who have grown up in the system and now shape its direction in Colorado. Training at 10th Planet Denver centers on no-gi Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, with a schedule that covers all levels from fundamentals to advanced, and a range of specialty classes.
